Commercial Energy Engineering Analyst

Pay $110k/yr.-$145k/yr.

Hybrid in Martinez CA (Hybrid, remote is not an option)

The Commercial Energy Engineering Analyst supports the Energy Team by providing technical expertise, system design, and analytical support for commercial solar, battery storage, and distributed energy projects. This role is responsible for system modeling and design using tools like Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, PVsyst, and AutoCAD, developing preliminary layouts and production models, and sizing PV and BESS systems for optimal technical and financial performance. The analyst also prepares estimates, bills of materials, and technical proposal inputs, and assists with due diligence, site reviews, and construction planning throughout the project lifecycle.

Key qualifications include:

  • 5-9 years of experience in commercial solar, battery storage, or distributed energy engineering
  • Proficiency in industry design and modeling tools (Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, PVsyst, AutoCAD)
  • Strong understanding of NEC, utility interconnection, and AHJ requirements
  • Experience with estimating, pricing, and financial modeling (ROI, NPV, utility rates)
  • Ability to prepare and interpret drawings and layout plans
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Team-oriented, analytical, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment

This is a full-time position based in Martinez, CA, with up to 80% remote work possible after onboarding.
